Construction Inspector – Various INDOT Districts
Qualifications, Requirements, and Experience
At least 5 years of experience of construction inspection on federally funded road and bridge projects
Completed INDOT Certified Technician Program (CTP) six areas of certification (or Civil Engineering Degree)
SiteManager Certification a plus
Proficient in performing field testing of concrete, soils, aggregates, asphalt, and other construction materials
Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills
Proficient use of Microsoft Word and Excel
CAD/Micro Station and/or Surveying experience is preferable
Typical Responsibilities
Communicate and coordinate with contractors’ staff on a daily basis
Complete daily reports
Create field drawings
Perform field measurements
Able to read and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings
Able and willing to work in inclement weather
Able to lift 50 lbs.
Perform standard mathematical calculations, including trigonometry
Assist the PE/PS in the completion of the Final Construction Record
